1st I have been using webcams with yahoo on with PC and they take just about everything. When I switched to Mac the webcams didnt run, so I hooked up a digicorder through firewire cable. WORKED! Now my face is back on screen at work and I can explaine things easier. Although, I have someone accessing my cam which I would rather not allow access. I looked in the Preferences-webcams-permissions and found the ID of the person in the "always allow the following users to view my Webcam", clicked the ID i wanted to remove but the "Remove from Allow List" was unavailable. How do I make it available to remove the ID name. Another problem I have is the name in the login window always displays the last user. How do i make it open up blank? I tried the remove all cookies and weblogs even reset safari which was once sugestedbut didnt work and also tried installing and re-installing the program to see if that worked but its still there. Is the information hiden somewhere on the hardrives system files?
I have a few question about an iMac too but lets get through this part first.

Thanx
Dez

Hi Dez,

Yahoo doesn't support webcams on Macs. Yahoo doesn't like giving our smaller market any of the percs, but that's okay. I'd scratch the whole Yahoo thing if I were you.

Instead, you can go through iChat. If you set up an AIM account, you can use that to communicate with your buddies and still use your original webcam. Or, if you have a .mac account you can use a Jabber account to talk to anyone with a messenger (although I'm not sure Yahoo Messenger is supported).

As for trying to block out that other user, I need a little more info. You're using Yahoo Messenger with the digicorder? Can you see the other user's IP address in the preferences? There might be a block user option there, but if you're using a digicorder with Messenger, I wouldn't count on it. Yahoo Messenger wasn't designed for digicorders, so none of those extra options will be available.

Hope this helps you. Let me know how things go.

Sincerely,
Vishad
