TICKET ARCHIVE -> yahoo messenger

I just got a new Mac OS X and I was trying to download yahoo messenger but it doesn't seem to be working. It won't install correctly. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. So if you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.

Yahoo Messenger hasn't been updated since 2004 !
There is ton of issues with YM on OSX. Yahoo Messenger would have to be updated for it to work properly, and they don't consider Macs very important.
Just have a look at the system requirements on their site:
http://messenger.yahoo.com/messenger/download/mac.html

On Mac, you can run Adium: http://www.adiumx.com/; no video support
or
Mercury: http://www.mercury.to/index.php; video support

both allowing Yahoo ID to be recognised.
