Why can I no longer send files using OS X (10.3.9)?

I never had a problem before but for the past few weeks or maybe months I have not been able to send files using Yahoo Messenger.

Has something changed or do I need to change some settings?

Yahoo messenger hasn't been updated for almost 2 years. I would suggest going to an IM client with better support, and one that works better on a Mac. Two suggestions: Adium, and Fire. There are others. You can download both, and try them from versiontracker.com.

Thanks Dale, I will look them up but can those clients talk cross-platform?

These are both multi-protocol, and quite talented. You're not just limited to Yahoo! chat services.
