What apps can edit a .pdf file like a text document?

Then you no longer have text in your pdf. You have an image. It may contain something that looks like text, but you can't copy it and paste it into, say, a text field in a form on a web page. You can't edit it and change the font or spelling either. There are a lot of applications that will allow you to edit PDF documents, but very few of them are free. Inkscape can do it,...

What apps can edit a .pdf file like a text document?

If I tell you, will you solemnly promise to tell everyone else? Seriously, see the second of my posts on this topic, the Edit bit. 1. I used the .jpg file I'd created after copy/pasting bits from a .pdf file into AWks and saving as .jpg (QT), and then 2. I opened the .jpg in Acrobat Pro, thereafter 3. Saved As .pdf in Acrobat. If people are using OS Leopard, then they cannot...

What apps can edit a .pdf file like a text document?

I don't know about the Brothersoft solution, but Acrobat isn't close to free (or shareware, either) I get this same question from time to time, and I just don't see a good solution, other than spending some bucks on an Adobe setup. Is there a reasonable solution for editing PDFs? Has anyone tried the Brothersoft app?

What apps can edit a .pdf file like a text document?

Sure, if you want to rebuild the entire PDF from scratch. A PDF writer is very different from a program that can "edit" PDFs. But that's changing the basic document content... the original PDF contained actual, embedded text, but the final product PDF contained only an image of text... two very different things. The text in your new PDF is no longer resolution-independent,...

What apps can edit a .pdf file like a text document?

I've just tried this: 1. Open the .pdf file with Adobe Acrobat (assuming you have it) 2. Copy All (or whatever part you wish to edit) 3. Open TextEdit and paste into a new document. I've tested the above with MSWord as well. If there are graphics within the .pdf file, you can use AppleWorks Drawing (up to and incl Tiger) and you can then copy/paste both text and images.

Adobe reader quit

I'm having the same problem. That's why I registered here today, to hopefully find someone that knew what was happening with Adobe Reader 8.1. Using OS 10.4.11 (for a long time) with no problems. Just did software update from Apple + downloaded new Acrobat (I thought) but it was Adobe Reader 8.1. Immediately after install when I clicked on "read more" within the just...

Will my software work if I upgrade from 10.3.9 tot 10.5?

I've some free time on my hands so I checked around. I found this thread which offers info for Quark, Suitcase and CS. In your case though, the reality could be totally different and I'd read it with that in mind. Regarding Office 2004, Google results here, provide a good read about various Mac users experiences with Leopard/Office'04. Basically, the bottom line is...

Need some expert advice-- want to make documents EXPIRE...

Hi there, I am doing a project in which I'm circulating some sensitive material via PDF files. Ideally, I'd love it if the PDF file could expire so that the sensitive material wasn't hanging out on people's computers forever. (the material isn't life or death sensitive-- but it would be great if we could limit the time that it existed "out there").. I looked into...
