Adium

Ouch...:( I was really hoping that iChat would have logging...I probably wont be using it without it, no matter how nice it looks. Maybe it will be implemented in the final release along with a tabbed interface similar to Adium...hey, a guy can wish right? ;)

Please don't flame me for 30 iChat threads, but if anyone knows, does it have chat/message logging like Adium? And are there any other window modes like Adium? Thanks!! :D

Can someone let me know all the options you have in iChat?? is there the following: Logging Tabbed Window mode like Adium That's the only two things it needs if it does not have them already :D

I've used Fire, Proteus, and Adium... they're all great except none of them support file transfer (which I use a lot). ...anyway, anybody else know anything? I know there was at one point a patch for an earlier OS X version of AIM, but I haven't seen it in months.

Nope. You should check out 3rd party clones like Adium and Fire, etc. Do a search on Version Tracker, or just wait for iChat in a few months. ...

I found proteus the other day to be as enjoyable or more than Fire. It's not as good as Adium for straight up AIM but when I want to talk to ICQ people I use that. ...

Your new iChat makes me sad that it takes up so much space. Look at Adium or Omniweb. The content of the window goes all the way to the edges but it doesn't matter because shadows on the windows below it allow us to decipher the edge. ...

iChat looks so bloated :( I got overly excited when I read that they were buddy buddy with AOL because that certainly means file transfer. Integration with Address book sounds intriguing too.
