These are always running: iTunes, OmniWeb, Mail, Terminal, CPU Monitor, SlashDock, Dockprefs (duh), Weatherling These are running almost 100% if I've got a net connection: Adium ircII These are almost always running: Console, Project Builder, Interface Builder

while i don't knowingly touch anything having to do with aol, there is something wrong when quitting a classic app quits the entire classic environment unless you are force quitting. in which case something else is wrong. definitly go to www.versiontracker.com and find yourself an osx aim client of some sort. Folks seem to swear by adium. Then figure out what is causing...

AIM is cool, but you've got to love adium. Its not made by AOL, and it has the most amazing use of dock animations ever in any program. I wish apple would follow their example and use more dock animations, the only one is the number of messages in Mail

Yes, I've tried Fire, and except from stability worse than Windows 98, it and Protesus seem like good alternatives. And that flashing tranparency of updated windows in the background looks cute, stylish and fancy Come to think of it, I miss that...I'll give Fire another try...
