Adium

I have 284 megs of RAM, and Memory Monitor in the Dock. Sometimes I will do something with some software, like a web browser or Adium, just entering text, for example, and it will sit for say a minute with with spinning color wheel. I can go to other apps no problem, but why does it do this? At the same time, I will see less then half of my RAM actually active, so that's...

Hm, lets start the list. Omniweb, WindowshadeX, Fruit Menu, Xounds, Watson, Adium (well, made a donation), Snak, and Transmit. I sure do love shareware. :D

I take it you mean Adium, right? Adium is the BEST aim client…ever. Audion is kick@ss MP3 player software for the Mac.

Check out this link if you want to try some other chat programs. I haven't used it in a long time, but Adium should be quite nice and does just AIM. Fire is what I am currently using and it has a lot of cool features. Version 0.30b ought to be coming out "soon". ...

anrkngl, use Adium instead of Aim beta, it uses less CPU time and has no ads. ...

chemistry_geek, what's wrong with your!? use Adium, not AOL IM? :) As for speed, my TiBook runs it fine, and my Wallstreet has acceptable performance. My biggest problem with OSX is that if the Finder locks up, the dock locks up, and then they bring the system down :(
