A possible fixed explained in the MacBook Apple discussions. I hope this helps. According to the things I have read over the internet is this Airport problem only seems to affect the latest MacBooks. Update: I also heard for some that downloading and reinstalling the revised 10.4.10 Update v1.1 has fixed the problem for some.

ize matters, of course. Any "backup system" that comes with a drive, I'd probably ignore. Get a drive that comes without one and is cheaper. There are great free backup systems around and if you upgrade to Mac OS X 10. ...

for a backup to and external (or second disk): Super Duper. Bootable DVD is not easy. For the best repair tool (that is bootable) on a Mac IMHO is DiskWarrior. This utility saved my butt more often than I care to count.

An external FireWire 800 drive would give as much throughput as your laptop hard drive could handle... Why not just go all out and set up a RAID array with eighteen 1TB hard drives linked directly to your mobo via a fiber optic cable? Honestly, it's just a laptop, man. If you absofreakinglutely want that eSATA setup, just research what will fit and do it.
