Why no upgrade prices for iWork / iLife 05 to 06?

I just got it Dec 4th of this year (36 days ago)...how do you think I feel? I'm sure someone else got it after me. That's the way the cards lie in the computer world. It's not really that big of a deal to me. Things get updated all the time and some of those cost a whole lot more than $79 (or 45 GBP, 427 FRF, 128 DEM, 609 SEK, 9000 JPY, 837 MXN, 65 EUR, etc. ). If...

Switching 'recommended applications' to 'all applications'

When opening a file, sometimes you want to use a specific application (say open a .jpg file with BBedit instead of preview). Do do so, i right click/ ctrl-click a file --->(contextual menu) select 'Open with' --->select 'Other...' ---> (window) Choose application and then I always get the annoying 'enable: recommended applications' as default in the dropdown menu (or do they...

I'd probably ask the same thing, though my ending to it would be that I already have BBedit (or emacs, pico, ...). :D

Macromedia Studio MX 2004 and "Tiger"

Hi, Jeff! Thanks for the information. Are you using BBEdit and, if so, did you already have it installed on your machine when you installed Studio 8 (from Studio MX 2004)? Also, out of curiosity, why are you running both versions? Is there and advantage that Studio MX 2004 has over Studio 8? Thank you!

Macromedia Studio MX 2004 and "Tiger"

Hi David, I've been using MX 2004 (And Studio 8) for a while on Tiger now, and have found no problems with it. As for the BBEdit, maybe you can change it's name to BBEdit2 or temporarily move it out of your applications folder while you install Studio MX04? Just to be on the safe side. Hope this helps. Jon
