Hi, there was indeed a problem with my environment.plist file. Seems like I had accidentally saved it as .rtf instead of .txt before I changed the extension to .plist. It had a RTF preamble that did not show up in TextEdit, but was obvious when I opened the file with BBEdit. Stupid me. Anyway, works fine now. Thanks a lot for your help!

The icon is a bit different, actually. It's sharper now and has more of a rainbow-glare effect. I don't have a full-size shot on hand, but I can use some screenshots to show my dock before and after. See attachment. I'll say this much: it doesn't look nice in my Dock between QuickTime Player and BBEdit; too much blue!

I upgraded to Tiger immediately, mainly because as a developer, I want to be on the cutting edge. As a user, though, I wish I'd stuck with Panther. It was faster and smoother, and best of all, it didn't have anything as half-baked as Spotlight. I'll probably get Leopard immediately for the same reason. Core Animation sounds pretty neat. For someone like me who generally has...

Thanks all. 1) All windows notifying me of something and wanting me to take action cause programs to crash if I don't make a decision and click a button in a relatively short period of time. No time to take a screen shot because I don't know that the window is going to cause my program to crash. It's not always Dreamweaver, but this morning, Dreamweaver 8 notified me that...
