personally i'm loving this. I think os x rocks. Right now i'm only upset that i most of the applications for it are half lame. There are definitely some issues, but i have yet to find a problem i can't fix. I was having problems running omniweb, i contacted omnigroup and they said most people updating from the beta had the problem and suggested a clean install. Not the...

Any OS which is "designed to be in a dual-boot environment" (meaning, you *have* to dual boot to do what you want) is pretty lame in my opinion. There are many, many bugs. Here are some of the better ones: - When I first open a Classic app (like BBEdit), the number 3 is typed forever until I stop it. This only happens in Classic apps. - The force quit dialog...

All I can say for edtiting unix files, is BBEdit. I use it all the time (apache.conf is the only file I play with, and I live in root) If I try to edit apache.conf from my user account, I can't. I will never use a CLI text editor.

my imac is already running only os x pb solely...so i'll get os x as soon as it comes out and pop it on there. I also have a pm 8600 with an upgrade card that is currently running os x pb, 9, 8.6, 8.1, and 7.6.1...hehe, so yeah, i'll install os x on it but the rest of the systems will remain there for testing purposes, i can also then use any pereferals on it until all the...

I've been using the beta as the regular OS on my home machine, and it's been fine. The only things I even need classic for are BBEdit and Photoshop I'll get & install OSX as soon as it comes out, but I probably wont' move over to it completely until the aformentioned 2 essential apps are carbonized & (relatively) bug free.

2) Look for a file named ".GlobalPreferences.plist" in your USER's preferences, not root's preferences! It must be there:
/Users/ "youraccount folder"/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist
3) Make sure you have a copy of this file in a secure place !!!!!!!!!!
4) Now edit it with BBedit and replace the following words
