Trash the 'com.apple.finder.plist' file located in User/Library/Preferences Restart Run Repair Permissions from Disk Utility in your Utility folder. Download one of these; Onyx, Yasu, Cocktail Use to clear all Caches, run maintenance scripts, etc.

Whenever I right click for the second time in a finder window (after viewing a file or folder's properties), it crashes and restarts. I've tried running Cocktail and verifying/repairing permissions on all of my drives but it still does this. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? It's been doing this for about two weeks and is driving me nuts.

tly got a new battery for it cause the old one wasn't lasting longer then an hour. I used the new battery for about a day, then as part of my usual routine I ran cocktail to repair disk permissions and clean the cache followed by a restart. Thats when all the trouble began. ...

FruitMenu uses very little, not noticeable. I've been using it almost since OS X came out. You can also use this script; tell application "Finder" shut down end tell Save it as an application and put it in your Dock, or if you decide to use Fruit Menu you can add it to the Apple Menu. It will shut down the machine with any warning.
