MUST's for a Mac

Cocktail Synergy Transparent Dock Rocket Launcher Pod Manager (great for pulling back songs from your iPod back to your hard drive) Drag 'N Tooth (great for bluetooth usages, which I seem to use more and more with my Nokia 3650 and my pda) A Vaja leather case for your iPod, the i-Volution of the like (a little pricey, but well worth it). Delocalizer (in case you forget...

MUST's for a Mac

must have for me - Default Folder X Graphic Converter Maintain Your Mac (like cocktail but still free) iCab - (better graphics download management than safari) an app for multiple docks - i use dockswitcher and really like the menu bar directory that it adds so i don't even bother to switch docks most of the time. Diskwarrior - because disk utility only fixes so much....

MUST's for a Mac

That's where the difference can be, I have no use for these mentioned items, except MPlayer, and Cocktail (which is no longer shareware, use it once and then have to buy it; OnyX does the same for free, but an Applescript collection is great too for system maintenance.) GraphicsConvertor (can be used free, but buy it) owaters, still be helpful to know what you're needing,...

MUST's for a Mac

CDFinder (shareware) MaxMenus (shareware) AIM (I can't stand iCrap(aka iChat) that is brush metal & aqua gone too damn far) M-Beat MPlayer Cocktail use to be, i made my own Applescripts to do my daily/weekly/monthly and other tasks I guess thats it for me

Duplicate volume problem

i remember having this problem once but i'm having troubles remembering exactly how i solved it. i can tell you that i didn't use the terminal. my suggestion is to use one of the apps like 'maintain your mac' or cocktail and run the 3 crons - daily, weekly and monthly. i know this has helped with other recent issues of volume info on my drives getting in conflict with each...

OS X Tools

This is IMHO- Pilot in Cocktail is good The Scripts (daily, weekly, monthly) run by themselves at those intervals if you leave your computer on all the time. I don't think it hurts to run these at any time you feel like it. I run the Weekly about once a day (it resets the memory use by the system, so Top in the Terminal 'looks' better (necessary? not really, I (and the...

OS X Tools

I didn't make my question clear enough: System Optimizer = Optimize - by doing what? Cocktail's Pilot panel deletes caches, runs the cron scripts, deletes archived logs, and repairs permissions. As a separate event it will prebind as well. CCCloner also repairs permissions. Xupport will prebind, repair permissions and run the cron scripts among other things. Since I don't...
