DiskWarrior

My G4 Powerbook has never frozen in seven years (a couple of Kernal Panics only). The cursor on my new(ish) mac mini freezes almost daily. I can only fix it by rebooting. I have: fixed permissions used utility repair from the install boot up disc run diskwarrior run techtool pro

I tried to install 10.4.10 combo update on top of 10.4.10 that had some odd issues. 10.4.10 install nearly finished and was ready to switch to update prebining when I got the "the installer failed. Also if the data is very important, do not try to recover your self as you might actually make it impossible to make a recovery. Of course make MULTIPLE backups (and not only to another harddrive or memory-stick, but also on tape or cd/dvd) to reduce data-loss to a minimum. Good luck, Kees
