is to have disk warrior on another disk to run it. in other words, boot with os 9 startupdisk, launch DW from your HD. plug the bad drive in. repair it. now copy diskwarrior to the repaired FW drive. run it from there to repair your main drive. that should be all you need. i don't think you need to install os 9. ...

don't forget what i said before. go ahead and launch diskwarrior and then plug in your drive. diskwarrior should find it and be able to repair it. it's the only utility i know of that will do this. ...

i can only tell you that i discovered diskwarrior when i first experienced this problem. i worked for 2 days with testuser's help while trying techtool pro, drive 10 and even norton with no results. ...

Diskwarrior is not an option..... I rm -rf'ed OS 9 a while ago. I will try several disk utility programs EXCEPT NORTON ANYTHING on my disk and see what comes up.... fingers crossed....

you need to run Diskwarrior on your internal drive. ...
