I rarely update when I should but I was experiencing a moment of weakness when I clicked on update and the next morning when I tried to open Word, iTunes, Quark, Dreamweaver, Final Cut Pro etc etc the icon at the bar will start to bounce as if it wants to open then shuts down. I am a complete idiot when it comes to most things. I live in the sticks and there is no computer...

I did exactly what you suggested... except the onyx, it requires os 10.5 or greater and I am OSX 4.11. I did download a couple of other fixers and unfortunately those will not open either. Same as with all other applications. The disk utility said I had no permission problems and it all verified fine. I mean I cant even get itunes to open. nothing and have like 50...

I upgraded to Adobe Reader 8.1.1 on my MacBook Pro running Tiger 10.4.11 and the upgrade didn't finish, it ended with Adobe Reader crashing. I repaired permissions and tried re-installing but something is still causing it to crash. Can anyone tell me how to completely uninstall Adobe Reader 8.1.1 ?? Your analogy makes sense if you add in the fact that the cheap car maker bought the expensive one and was trying to hide the fact that their existing model (GoLive) wasn't quite as good or as popular as the expensive maker's cars (Dreamweaver).

Adobe's GoLive support page: http://www.adobe.com/products/golive/ and at the bottom of that page a little link about switching to Dreamweaver: http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/switch/ They are playing the delicate balancing act of selling two softwares, one of which is obsolete (GoLive) without saying as much because it was Adobe's product before they...

For example iTunes, Safari, Dreamweaver, MSN etc.... But since this doesn't happen too often, I don't really worry about it. Has anybody else had this sort of problem?

If it does not fit the Creative Suite to 'CS' standards, then it is not fit for purpose. I accept of course that this is my own opinion, but what are forums for if not to express the same? What would have been better would have been for Adobe to show a little more probity by making a clear statement a year ago of their intentions. Of course, if they were undecided then it...

Hm. So you think they should, after going the distance to update GoLive to a version that fits the Creative Suite 3 very well, tell potential upgraders to stay away from it, because you "might feel it sucks"? Do you _really_ expect them to? That Adobe was going with Dreamweaver instead of GoLive was talked about since the Adobe/Macromedia takeover/merger. It was clear about...
