problem comes with the FTP feature in Dreamweaver. Plain and simple it just sucks. It's rediculously slow compared to a program like Transmit. Hi All, I know I can create keyboard shortcuts for snippets, etc. but is it possible to create custom code hints? For instance, I have some custom ASP tags I created (i.e. <%=customTagStart%>content<%=customTagEnd%> ) and I'd like to be able to start typing those tags in code view, and have Dreamweaver suggest (and complete if I choose) just as it would for built-in HTML...

I agree that you shouldn't use Dreamweaver's built-in features to create database connections, etc. You should hand code, however, Dreamweaver is a great tool to hand code in php because it contains a good reference of available PHP functions and has code-sense (although somewhat limited) that helps a lot.
