Hmmm. Scary deadline and 'for reasons beyond our control' Epson Tech Support has closed down for the week – not that I have managed to reach a solution with Epson's help! I have a G5 Imac that seems to have issues printing postscript files. Well, at least it has all the symptoms when I print my Quark document: placed Illustrator eps, rotated tiffs, and images with cutting...

Good day... We're a small graphics company using both Macs and PCs (OSX 10.3 & Win2K). Most (but not all) art is created on a Mac and RIPped to the printers on PC. We have noticed that .eps files don't always appear the same on the two systems. For example, it is not uncommon that an object which shows at the front of the illustration on the Mac will be behind some other...

I am trying to work with a vector image and text in Illustrator, to then save in as an image to be viewed on the web. The final image looks blurry and the text does not have the proper anti-aliasing. Do you save your work in .eps format, open it up in Photoshop to save it as a .jpg? What are the steps in between to save the clarity of text and images? Thanks!

You need to get new copies of those files if you can. If you get 'unable to parse eps' it's likely they were for some reason saved improperly. How big are the files? if they're only a few hundred K, whatever they are, they are definitely NOT hi-res photos. Your files should be much bigger if they are. What program are you trying to open it with? What program was used...

Not provided in original post: Application(s) used to create the '.eps' file, if known. PC: WindozeOS version and application(s) used to view '.eps' files. Mac: System / MacOS X version and application(s) used to view '.eps' files. Without a copy or link to the poster's photo(s), or a sample of such, I downloaded a number of '.eps' graphic (non-photo) samples from the...

QuickTime can open some EPS's, but you probably need to get Adobe Illustrator to read them correctly, unless there is some freebie that opens them well.

Im pretty new to the world of Macs. Ive downloaded some photos (EPS) from an FTP server to my PC. But when I transfer and open them on my Mac they appear garbled and unviewable. They need to be high res because they are going into a printed brochure. Any pointers would be gladly received. thanks

Well, if you are doing scientific writing (that is going to be submitted for publication) I would recommend a TeX based solution. My background is in mathematics and LaTeX is the format that is required for my writing. I'll need a specific example of something that I couldn't do in Create. Which means what? Just because it can do something doesn't mean that it is the...
