And the thing is i would use the smb, but the .eps files are showing up as postscript files, but they do open up in photoshop when you drag the file to the application. How can you fix that? Also, since the quark files are showing up as unix files i would have to change the extension to .QXD so the icon changes to a quark document.

Reading gyazmail's homepage with "main features", I don't see much that Mail.app in Tiger doesn't. I, too, think that the EPS-support in Tiger's Mail.app sucks (was better in Panther), but I think that's it. Nothing else really missing... :)

Same here, entourage is the best mail app ive found. I do use mail, but i find it doesn't behave very well with attachments (particularly eps files, which it tries to convert to pdf and usually hangs). This makes it unusable for work, so i tend to just use if for personal stuff. Its also not very good at removing messages from certain servers either, even when asked to. ...

Sorry, I should have explained better. The original file was created in Illustrator and saved as 'card.eps. This I placed in Quark, as I find a Quark eps distilled gives a better result and can be opened by anyone. In the past when I've saved files straight to pdf they haven't been universally readable. ...

and then exported to EPS. From there you distilled a PDF, opened the EPS in Illustrator to adjust some colour and then the EPS was gone. This would leave you with the original Quark file as well as the PDF which isn't exactly the colour you want. ...

If you still have your original Quark file, I'd just start again from there instead (and see if the vanishing of the eps-file is reproduceable). But it'd stump me, too, to have a file just missing like that...

I spent yesterday recreating a 'well done card' for a local school. This morning I put it into Quark, made an eps, distilled it to a pdf and printed it. I went back to Illustrator and took the Magenta down a touch, saved it, closed Illustrator and went to update in Quark, which said missing file. The file 'card.eps' is no longer in it's folder. It can't be found with finder or...
