Cannot play videos from Sky News website

Yep, it's another case of a video provider offering their content in some weird format. On the outside it looks like a .WMV, but that's where compatibility ends. Flip4Mac does a pretty good job with most of the sites, but there are still too many that offer up the odd stuff and don't conform to the standard. ...

Cannot play videos from Sky News website

Videos just refuse to play in my usual Safari browser. I've also tried Firefox, i.Cab & Camino browsers, without success. I have Realplayer & Qicktime installed, plus Flip4Mac. I have also tried Camino, set to MSIE6, still no result. Please can you advise?

Flip4mac no go

I will test it out. I just realized that I failed to mention that I was using Flip4Mac in Camino and Firefox, so that might be why. I haven't tried it under Safari mainly because it's not my browser of choice. ...

Viewing videos from the web

What kind of video is it, i.e., what's its extension (.mov, .wmv)? You'll probably want to get the free flip4mac player at http://www.flip4mac.com/ It allows Quicktime to play various Windows Media, without installing Microsoft Windows Media Player for Mac (which MS may not even distribute any more). Flip4mac now includes a plugin for Safari _and_ Firefox, so you'll be...

NO sound from WMV or Quicktime??

oblem here. i just upgraded from mac os10.3.7 to 10.3.9 on a g4 1.3 dual machine where everything was working just fine. wmv files play back with sound using the flip4mac workaround and quicktime, but you have to pay for that and it only works in safari, not firefox plus you have to download the files, so no plug and play. ...
