You could give it a try.....FLip4Mac should support most of the WIndows Media formats out there, including streaming. Give it a try and see.

Thanks for the tip! Opening the packages seperately allowed it to install. But some websites are still not displaying WMV content! Not sure why the flip4mac WMV package seems installed and working properly. ...

I already have VLC. I thought MPlayer was supposed to be better. I decided to try Perian. It works well, and does not conflict with Flip4Mac.

If past experience with Divx and 3ivx is any indication...it's kind of arbitrary. It's certainly not alphanumeric, since some versions of Divx took priority over 3ivx and some did not. It might have something to do with versions numbers or bundle identifiers, but it seems pretty random to me. But the important thing is that it's always consistent; if QT uses one over another...

Actually, I have the same issue Urbansensory mentioned on my PPC Mac. WMV Player does take a while to load movies, I guess because it performs some kind of read-ahead to do....something. Popwire's WMV9 Component didn't have this problem; it displayed files immediately and showed the "loading" time bar similar to what you get with progressive streams or large VBR mp3s. But it...

better off with Flip4Mac. WMP for the Mac isn't going to be developed any further so unless you have to use it for a particular reason, there's no need for it. Flip4Mac uses QuickTime as the player and actually embeds much nicely on websites that use Windows Media Audio and Video than WMP for the Mac does. ...
