You media files are probably not WMV files. The Windows version of Windows Media Player can play a wide array of media formats. The QuickTime Player can also play those files out-of-the-box. You may use the QT Player to show their file type. You may then add the appropriate extension so that your files display with the proper icon.

Tried what you suggest--no change. I can still play the files with Quicktime, but they appear as UNIX files, with no extension, etc. Also, I do not think I have Flip4mac...I searched the computer, using the search function, and looked in the Aplication and Utilities folder...no Flip4Mac. Well, at the end of the day, the movies play. It's just frusterating that...

You do not need Quicktime Pro. You have associated these videos files with Quicktime-Via Flip4Mac. On my computer, WMV files have the Quicktime icons, perhaps go over the steps again, and do a restart, or a least a log-out-log-in, and see what happens.

You can play a different file in each of these simultaneously; just be careful not to...

Well to make QuickTime play most all media files take a look at the free Perian plugin and for non-DRM Windows Media files take a look at Flip4Mac. Now I hope you know about VLC. On a side note for web radio streaming I personally use FStream because it is small and stays out of the way.

It really depends if you have a modern Mac. I assume you already knew about the QuickTime Plugins Perian and Flip4Mac. Note that thanks to Microsoft's devote following of the RIAA & MPAA you wont be able to play windows Media 10 or above files because of the DRM laden nature of those files. After I got these QuickTime plugins i used the same program FStream to stream live...
