Font Book

Amazingly font book opened 450 fonts in seconds on on my coworkers G4 400!! We had just upgraded and done a clean install of 10. ...

That was the EXACT problem. We opened font book and it had a font named ? ...

All I had to do was to reenable the fonts I disabled in font book. ...

after some debugging using the console I found out it was missing fonts. I did disable some before, with font book. I enabled them back and it works. ...

I don't notice any overhead - but then again I didn't use my PB much before I enabled it so I'm not sure on that. (I need more RAM!) Every now and then when I go to shut down - it asks me if I want to recover drive space (something about File Vault using more than necessary). That annoys the heck out of me! Wish it just DID it then shut down on it's own without asking! :p ...

/Applications/Font BookYou can make a duplicate copy of the Font Book application and then run them both side-by-side... That way you CAN preview 2 fonts next to each other...
