Safari displaying garbled text

Have you added or removed any fonts recently? Usually odd garbled letters occur for fonts gone bad. Go to Font Book (or whatever you use for font management), and disable all user added fonts. If the symptom will go away, enable half of them and see if it's back, until you can find which one caused it (unless Font Book's font validator finds the broken one/s).

Font Validation Fails in Leopard

Wow! I just imported 6000 fonts and it's speedy as hell - the same can't be said for Font Book (or Suitcase). It did crash when I removed to of my fonts that got landed in ~/Library/Fonts and were active, but since then it's been behaving amazingly well. I'll post back how it's holding up in Leopard. I had repaired permissions recently, so I skipped that.
