G4 Quicksilver Mac

I'm having a major boot problem with my G4 (Quicksilver) Mac. When I press the front power button, the machine starts to boot, but then completely shuts down in about two seconds - light goes out, fan stops etc. I have no idea how to proceed - need help! Thanks... Ron

Hi people you have been ever so helpful (thanx) that I have a new question right away. All of the sudden I cannot mount any DVD or CD on my superdrive. I have had on n off problems for a while.
