Way simple... you're a switcher, right? (thread) I've found that sometimes switchers can make things tougher than they are -- it's almost that you don't expect it to be so intuitive. Don't worry, very quickly you'll be "thinking" like your mac. In iChat, you need to make sure the camera is enabled (video pull down) as well as your microphone, and you can double check them...

Ok. It showed up in iChat. How do I set it up so that my AIM buddies can view it? How do I record with it in iMovie if there's no tape in it?

I think iceman was saying that the camcorder will work just fine as a webcam -- when you have it plugged into your FW port and powered up, then when you go to your preferences in iChat, iMovie, or QT, it'll show up as a video input option just like the old FW iSight camera would. GB

Hi icemanjc - ok i'm a little confused :confused:. When you say I can straight import without having a tape in camcorder, what does that mean? I'm not trying to import from a tape, just use the cam as a webcam to make videos and maybe chat. Can you give me instructions on how to do so? Thanks.

Using a camera with firewire works perfectly in all ways, you can straight import without having a tape in the camera on iMovie. You can also use it for iChat.
