I think what bobw is so eloquently trying to say is that AOL IM for OS X isn't very stable, reliable, feature-filled, user-friendly, or generally useful for anything at all. iChat really is a great solution for AOL IM. I think your sister-in-law will enjoy the interface a little more as well. And no ads :)
