Personally, I love the way iPhoto works... but to each his own. Why not just manually drag the files off the camera into your own directory structure? From what you're describing, it seems like you might gain only a few seconds having an application do it for you. I'm sure you could even write a fairly simple applescript to automate it. Also have you used ImageCapture?...

After force quiting out of Office 2004 and reopening it, everytime since office quits out of itself while opening. If i open a particular file it can open it in an office program, but opening the program by itself always crashes.
