Basically, I bought my mac 2nd hand, and it came with 'Creative Suite 3 Design Premium' which consists of - Indesign CS3, acrobat 8 profesional, Illustrator CS3, Photoshop CS3 extended, Flash CS3 profesional, dreamweaver CS3. The problem is with Flash, it isn't registered yet ALL the other adobe programs ARE REGISTERED, now because i bought it off another guy, he'd not packed...

Including fonts actually takes less memory than making them graphics because they are vector images, basically. You could convert the arrow symbols to tifs, but why bother? I'm sure you could find a suitable arrow in zapf dinghbats or winddings fonts. Various programs have more control over pdf. InDesign, of course, has native export options to pdf that are outstanding....

Tennant, You are clearly ahead of the rest of us. Can you send the PPD file with info on how to achieve this workaround? indesign problem sorted. it was a known problem when version cue autoupdater gt corrupted. a simple apple script fixed the corruption and it's all dandy now. itunes screen saver still bloody annoying. seeing if there's any fix for it yet...

There's really no reason to outline the fonts in InDesign, and I suspect that may be your problem. Just embed them when you create the PDF. Also, if the font has an effect such as a drop shadow or other transparency effect applied to it, you may want to check the "flattener" settings to make sure they're set to high-resolution. For me, the iTunes Artwork and Spectrum screensavers have been fine. Desktop backgrounds also have remained as whatever I set them to be. InDesign CS3 has been fine for me.
