Damn You, Second Life! No more 10.3.9 Support?

I had to trash Second Life. I downloaded it ages ago - when they were supporting 10.3.9. Yeah, I know - I should upgrade my OS, blah, blah, blah. What can I say? I'm a Panther addict. I love it. It's great. I like it better than Tiger and Leopard, so I'm sticking with it. Of course, the disadvantage is that every once in a while I come across great software programs which no...

Computer won't start 10.4 install CD

Leopard won't officially work on that Mac as it doesn't meet the minimum requirements. I say "officially" because there are workarounds to making Leopard run on G4 Macs that are slower than 867 MHz, but they're not without their "gremlins". ...

Desktop doesn't show any icons

Hi dmalhi1 & welcome to macosx :) Are you using Leopard? Is there anything at all you can think of that you did prior to this that might help us? It looks like your desktop won't let you modify it. If you drag something to the MacintoshHD icon, does it spring open? Keep the mouse pressed down as you drag a Safari URL onto that icon and when it springs open, navigate...

Already have VMWare, Can I now use BootCamp?

Just upgraded to Leopard. I am using VM Ware Fusion to run Windows XP (which I'd like to keep). Can I now create a new partition for Boot Camp (I want to boot into Windows for certain games that will probably run faster if not on the virtual PC)? I assume the version of Windows on the Boot Camp partition would not have all the same settings/programs/files as the one...

IMac 10 3 9, want to upgrade to Leopard

If it's just to be able to support iTunes 8, then Tiger would be more than adequate. I'm still running Tiger (10.4.11)on my iMac G5 and it does run fantastic, although I would like to upgrade to Leopard at some point (10.5.5 seems to be pretty stable so far from what I've read and experienced). Either way, I would recommend upgrading the RAM to at least 512 MB, preferably...

IMac 10 3 9, want to upgrade to Leopard

I am still running Tiger and have iTunes 8 so there's no problem there ... all you need are the system reqs for Tiger if you don't need Leopard just yet ... I haven't the specs of your Mac at hand but I can't see why you couldn't add the RAM if you haven't enough to run Tiger ... ...
