Mac Cocktail Problem

e 2 Standard Edition Upgrade and can't get any of the apps to work. They all launch until they hit the splash screen and then they quit out. I'm a pretty savvy Mac user and did all of the usual troubleshooting, dumped caches, ran Cocktail, repaired permissions, etc., etc. ...

When you've loaded up the good Mac and can see the problem Mac as a firewire drive, what error do you get when you try to access it? ...

doesn't see it! I might add that the hardware diagnostic in DiskWarrior says that the problem hard drive seems to check out ok, so I don't think its a mechanical problem. ...

After doing some housekeeping the other day (deleting old docs, removing unwanted apps, etc.) I can no longer mount a CD, any USB Flash drives or any .dmg disc image files. - When I try to run Toast it bounces once in the dock and dies. - The Disc Utility app starts but crashes while "Gathering Disc Information". - Cocktail will run but when I select "Drives" it hangs...
