I just posted somewhere else that I make DVD copies using mactheripper (free) to decrypt, then DVD remaster ($50) to shrink to normal disc size. I have 2 cheap DVD players - one plays the discs fine, one doesn't. ???.

To copy DVDs, I decrypt them with mactheripper (free), then shrink them with DVD remaster (about $50) to fit on regular DVDs. It works great, usually.

MacTheRipper (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22715) can extract the contents of DVDs, both commercially made and user created. Just don't use it pirate DVDs. hahah this is so funny i did this research last night. Very useful turorial he has a video explaining which programs to use/get and what to do to rip the dvd to your computer and reburn it to be playable in any dvd player. you'll need MacTheRipper to rip the dvd to your harddrive dvd2oneX to make an image out of the rip (and size it down to 4.4gb if it is a DL DVD rip)
