Can you elaborate on your comments re MAMP? .... testing vs production. I'm using it on my laptop to develop sites and it's a great solution. The app lets you turn Apache or Mysql or both on/off at any time

MAMP is really only for testing purposes not really for production use. You have to have the application open all the time it seems otherwise MySQL doesn't work from what I remember. ...

A question that I have yet to see answered about OS X Server... Why would anybody want to use the server builtin features for some simple things like webserving, ftp, mail, etc? There is never a silly question. But yes I did all of that. Now this works with MAMP.....But the problem now is I want to host it and from what I can tell the security is kinda weak with MAMP. Basically I can not secure MAMP..... So now I am back where I started. I really need to get the on board php taling to Mysql....... Still looking for help. Thanks,..... Ed
