When my notebook is plugged in: 1. My wireless signal and speed is increased noticably 2. The computer is slower. I try to convert a movie to another format and when its plugged in, it will take 15 minutes to convert a single tv episode, however when I unplug it it will only take 3 minutes. I am using iSquint to convert movies. Does anyone else find this to be true?

I do understand the need for keys to do double duty on the smaller notebook keyboards This would make sense to me but unfortunatly it is not how it works. If I reverse it there is no shortcut to the menu bar. I am not sure why it has to be that way but I use the menu shortcut a lot so I will live with Fn-F# for hardware control

I just got a new laptop which came bundled with Vista... and after seeing Mac OS X Tiger...

I only know how it's handled with Cablecom, one of the Swiss cable providers. They restrict the amount of devices that can connect, i.e. how many devices can get an IP from their servers. If that limit is "1" or "2", that would explain your situation, maybe. His laptop got an address, then your AirPort router. Now if you connect through AirPort, you get an IP from _that_, not...
