I don't have the iBook with me just now, but I'll try that once I have it in the morning. I can access the DVD/CD drive, but can't get it to release the DVD. Do you know a way?

Does anyone know how to export audio from MS Word? I recorded a lecture while in Notebood layout and would like to extract the audio. A cursory search of the net and Help says that there should be an "export audio" option in the Tools menu but I don't see it. I'm assuming the audio file has to hide somewhere....anyone?

I have bought a Canon lpd 2900/2900i and use it with my windows notebook - here I have no problems. Now I have tried to use this printer with my macbook MS OS X (Version 10.4.10) but it didn't work. I read that this printer is not compatible with mac, but I also also have read, that there are some tricks... Could anyone of you maybe help me with that issue? Thanks and best...

@irfaan we can only speculate of course. It has been 134 days since the last major update, so it would seem unlikely they will announce anything soon. My guess is the next update will be MacWorld, but with the Xmas season coming up, and the MacBooks looking out of place with the rest of the line, anything can happen. I'd have to agree with this. 99% of the time, I really don't use the optical drive of my MacBook until I get home. I'd be all for losing the optical drive in return for less weight / a real graphics card. Another salient option for me would be a slim MacBook Pro. That'd be cool...

If they do release a sub-notebook that has no optical drive, then I for one will be impressed. In this day and age, a thinner notebook, with a USB optical drive tucked safely away in your bag, would be a far more sensible option all around for most users.

You want an iMac. The Mac Mini uses notebook drives - small, and slow. Sure, you could hook up a nice, big firewire drive, but you only have one FW port, so your firewire camcorder is stuck with no place to plug into.
