I took a look at those pages, but after reading that plus looking up the applications that were derived from ffmpeg, I do not see anything that says it can play .apc files, and the ffmpeg itself has to be compiled before one can use it. Does the Panther iMac have an inbuilt Airport card? What are the full specs of this other iMac? If it does have inbuilt AirPort, then it may not need any other software installed, but having said that, I am not 100% sure and another would need to verify this as being accurate. If you wanted to upgrade from Panther to Tiger you'd need to source a Universal Installation or...

OK kmezzetti, Today it worked. I don't know why. Nothing changed on my father's mac. On mine I may but don't think I changed the firewall setting (we are both on the middle option, "Allow only essential services"). I've added iChat to the box below the firewall settings (allowing incoming connections) but I can't see how this would effect things as today it did not matter...

It appears that in resetting Safari and cleaning the browser cache that it caused a temporary slowdown in loading all web pages. Well wouldn't ya know it ... our "IT" guy swept in and recovered the files, somehow, but wouldn't tell us where he found them (so we can find them if it ever happens again!). After we'd rebuilt all our lost pages, of course. :mad:
