I like Parallels, but have also been satisfied with Sun's VirtualBox (which is free!) for running Windows XP in a virtualized environment. I wouldn't mess with BootCamp because I don't like the idea of carving out a portion of my hard drive meant solely for XP, although some people do like it because XP runs faster natively than it does through virtualization.

Hello, So I'm a prodigal Mac user that returned after leaving the Mac in the late 90s due to its relatively poor stability. But currently I believe that unless you have your own IT dept at home, you should have a Mac. My impressions so far are that Mac OS X Leopard can't be beat for stability, horsepower, and a great consumer UI. Anyway... to my topic. I told myself...

You'd need to purchase a retail or OEM copy of Windows for the virtual machine in Parallels. Any other way would be against the board rules here. Make sure that it's at least Service Pack 2 if it's going to be Windows XP.

Okay, maybe this is an isolated problem. I feel like I should be able to solve it, but so far I haven't been able to. Surely if it was widespread it would be talked about all over the Internet, but my searches aren't turning up anything. All right, let's cut to the chase: Time Machine, ever since I got 10.5 (to the best of my knowledge) has been backing up 1.6GB of...

I have a MacPro with a double layer DVD burner. I've tried using Xbox Backup Creator 2.8 in Windows through Parallels, but Windows is not recognizing my DVD drive. I've attempted to use Toast Titanium 8, Fast DVD Copy, and Disk Utility, but both are showing the disk only has 5.3 MBs (yes MEGAbytes) of disk space that's utilized with my Grand Theft Auto IV disc. I opened...
