Communicating with the clipboard at the command line

I'm working on that right now :p Ok how about this. I'm writing a little shell app that would run via crond, and check the pb for specific strings defined by the user like "---PGP ENCRYP", "MasterCard" whatever, and then clear the pb after a specified about of time, like 10 seconds or something. It would have limited use though, especially since most people don't have...

HELP>Making password protected CDs

the disk copy allows 'just' aes-128 encryption. if you need a stronger protection, encypt that .dmg file as well. cypher gets the encryption to a higher level, and gpg/pgp up to 4096 (or maybe more) bytes (without the possibility to open it without your private keys).

HELP>Making password protected CDs

Try this, found on another site; - Open the Disk Copy program (in /Applications/Utilities) - Select File -> New -> New Blank Image - Select a CD-Rom mastering size (or go for 500mb for convenience). You might also make an image just the right size to hold the files you want to protect and allow a little room. - Select AES-128 encryption - You will be asked to enter a...

HELP>Making password protected CDs

use encryption. either GPG or PGP - encrypting the files e.g. with your keys only, or e.g. Cypher (from versiontracker) - that aasks the password and decrypts back with the right password. that's mac (os x?) only, but it's really small utility (and it's freeware), so that could probably do it. stufffit or zip the folder to be only one file, and then encrypt it.if you use your...

No Info Rights Management for Office:Mac says M$!?

I'm only replying to two points, one because I think it's important to clear up a point and another because it's on topic. Originally posted by hulkaros Gimme a break... No Info Rights Management for Office:Mac says M$!?

Originally posted by binaryDigit What? Disable? How on earth do they do that? There are still a ton of people out there using Office 4.2. Do you actually have any examples of this behaviour? Heck, I ran IE 4.0 on my machine at home (Win2K, I use Mozilla so I never bothered to upgrade, BUT I still kept IE around for that occasional website that just wouldn't act...

Good keylogger/spyware?

I've got a little security problem locally. Even though I'm pretty strict about putting on the password-protected screen saver when I leave, there are times when I forget to. My network's pretty solid though, as far as I know. In these few times, my friends-who are addicted to pranking-like to do things like change my screenshot file to something umm naughty, and I usually...

Ssl/ssh/sftp/ftp and all that jazz

sftp, ftp and ssh all work in terminal. try them and tell what you get as result. i'd go also for 'external encrypting' = sending the files encrypted e.g. with GPG or PGP (or e.g. Cypher) with your key and the receivers key. sorry - had to move the thread to system & misc. software board. but Welcome on board! :)
