I am having trouble with distortion in iTunes. If I play the file via preview, or QT, they will play fine. Crossfade, soundcheck, sound enhancer are all off, the EQ is also off. I have also found that that bitrate displayed in the pre-import mp3 is 128... After import the bitrate is 172(VBR). If I convert them to aiff, the distortion is carried into the new file. ...

I think I understand the 'credentials' part and would like to contribute that when I access a Mac on my Network, I have the choice to log in as a 'Registered User' or 'Guest' .... what I see depends on which I choose with 'Registered User' offering the most access and Guest only gives me access to putting files in the users Drop Box. With the 'Registered' User login, I...

If it is the Flat Panel G4 then it should have a DVD drive already .... Having got that off my chest, try the following: Boot the iBook with the DVD drive into Target Disk Mode with the Tiger...

Have you any of these apps running? iChat, iMovie 6, Comic Life, and PhotoBooth. If you're not sure, have a look in Activity Monitor under "All Processes", found in your Utilities folder which is in the Applications folder. http://img.skitch.com/20080630-d3x221txbcgmcktibr27f1aq7r.preview.jpg

I can't say for sure whether there's a better way to do this or if Mac OS X can do this natively (Split a large download and I'm thinking Terminal). All I can suggest is to use the provided Applescript (Replace Text In Item Names) and http://img.skitch.com/20080628-c3hw2gnurf7ic2tx4pqgedrpki.preview.jpg Or, it may be easier still to set up an Automator Script (linky)...

Then you no longer have text in your pdf. You have an image. It may contain something that looks like text, but you can't copy it and paste it into, say, a text field in a form on a web page. You can't edit it and change the font or spelling either. There are a lot of applications that will allow you to edit PDF documents, but very few of them are free. Inkscape can do it,...

These photos that are not loading properly, where are they stored? In the iPhoto Library Folder in Pictures? If you Ctrl/Right-Click the image in the Library window and select "Show File" and then when the Finder window opens to reveal it, double-click on the original, which should open in Preview. Let me know if it still appears as it did in your screenshot.

Just hook up the ext drive and from Finder (Desktop) press Command + U to launch your Utilities Folder. Then look for Disc Utility and fire that up. Look at my image and you can see my ext drive in the left column and to the right is the Erase Tab section where there is a pull down menu that you can choose from. MS-DOS is good for using your ext drive with both your...
