I believe you should be fine if the Quicksilver G4 supports 4x AGP (which I think it does). http://www.lowendmac.com/ppc/quicksilver-2002-power-mac.html Be aware though that sometimes the cards on the G5 Power Macs come in an AGP-Pro configuration and will only work for those AGP-Pro slots on the G5. http://www.ertyu.org/steven_nikkel/agpcompatibility.html

Yours is the model known as 'Quicksilver'. Some later ones were sold with logic boards that could use larger hard drives. Yours is apparently an early one. Can you identify any of the biggest chips on that PCI card? Some PCI cards might work natively if you have upgraded to Tiger (OS X 10.4.x), but there's no guarantee of that. Best way to proceed is to get an IDE adapter...

I decided to give it a try again, and see if I could get iPHOTO to work. I did a "transfer" from the old iBOOK to the Quicksilver. At least instead of "iPHOTO has suddenly quit, nothing you can do, buh bye" answer, I got a "you saved the photos on your computer using a newer version, this is an older version, use the version that doesn't work" message. (Just being a wisea**)....

BUT, the iPod is nowhere to be found (when I connect the...

When I push the start button on the front of the machine, the button illuminates then fades, but the computer doesn't start, but after a time of doing this it eventually fires up. Is it just a coincidence that this happened after a power cut even thought the computer was shut down at the time?

We are having a permissions issue with files transferred between our Intel and PowerPC Macs in our design department. Specifically we have two PowerPC machines - one a G4 (Quicksilver) and one a G5 (Dual 2.3ghz) - and two Intel machines - both dual core Intel Xeon. All four machines are running system 10.4.11. An important note and possibly the problem creator is that all...
