Wow. 1.) The "quicksilver" desktops were G4s, not G5s. 2.) The PowerPC line of processors in Macs started with "G1" (PPC 601) and through "G2" (603/604) went to G3 (750 and up), G4 (74xx) and G5 (97x). They're all PowerPCs. 3.) They do apply and he should install them.
