I just benchmarked the macs at work with the GUI version. Both running 10.0.4 G3 iMac 233 = 4.056667 G4 Quicksilver 733 = 1.486667 I was expecting the 733 to be closer to 1.2 or even 1.1 which would be nearly 2x faster than my 400 G4 at home. The math works out to be what I would expect a 550mhz G4 to handle the calculations. I did notice that the Window Manager and...

Good luck. Let me know if you get an answer. I have a problem with iPHOTO working on my old iBOOK and the new MACBOOK but I get the message on my old quicksilver. And I've tried tons of stuff (I just put a new message up on the forum) including doing a firewire "T" transfer hoping that would do the trick. Nope. Nuttin'.

I decided to give it a try again, and see if I could get iPHOTO to work. I did a "transfer" from the old iBOOK to the Quicksilver. At least instead of "iPHOTO has suddenly quit, nothing you can do, buh bye" answer, I got a "you saved the photos on your computer using a newer version, this is an older version, use the version that doesn't work" message. (Just being a wisea**)....

Hey All!!!!! I am in the process of setting up an ethernet network between the 2 systems in my house. The are both G4's, one a 2002 IMac and the other a 2002 G4 Quicksilver. We are using a Belkin G ethernet router. So far, I have been able to download files from one system to the other, but there were some things that were not transferable due to "not having permissions" to...

You know? I never thought of that and I just ran a little test: 1) Connected the burner via USB to the Quicksilver. 2) Then connected the iPod (last generation with firewire data transfer support) to the burner via Firewire The computer recognizes the burner with no problem at all, I even played a CD from iTunes. BUT, the iPod is nowhere to be found (when I connect the iPod...

When I push the start button on the front of the machine, the button illuminates then fades, but the computer doesn't start, but after a time of doing this it eventually fires up. Is it just a coincidence that this happened after a power cut even thought the computer was shut down at the time?

This problem is driving me mad!! When I play my iTunes from my G4 Quicksilver through my Airport Express remote speakers, music plays for a short while and then stops for a few seconds, then starts again then stops for a few more seconds then starts again and so on. It never used to do this and playing iTunes from my MacBook is fine. One interesting thing that I've...
