Please, don't get me wrong! I love Mac OS X with every fiber of my being...and for having 800Mhz...it really doesnt do that bad. I just sometimes wish it were a little faster:p

Finally I found out why there was often a annoyingly long delay since 10.1.2 when using the volume key or waiting for a sound effect like emptying the trash, etc. It's because OS X turns your speakers off!! If you don't play any sounds for 30 seconds (so says the kbase article) your sound hardware goes into "low power mode" and it must be woken up. The kbase article says...

Stridder, here is where I'm coming from: I have been a Powerbook owner since the Duos came out and have been on board with pretty much every new generation. The exception were the 400Mhz Powerbook (Wallstreet) and now the endless mini revisions of the Tibooks. I own a 667Mhz TiBook DVI and my point is that so far in my history with Apple I wanted and NEEDED the next...

Try going to your SCSI card's manufacturer's web site and looking for OS X firmware updates, drivers, or similar software. My mother's Quicksilver G4 had a similar problem, and a poorly-designed firmware upgrade from Orange Micro solved it. If that fails, tell us who made your SCSI card and hope that someone with specific experience speaks up.

You're right I should not have said QuickSilver. but the point is waiting for Quark to go OS-X... is ridiculous... Surely there are other programs like Quark one can by for OS-X. I still believe that people need to change with the times.

USB2.0 Connect from Adaptec - PCI card, for the occasional HD I have to get stuff off. And it is a Quicksilver, not a mirrored door one. The Bluetooth adapter is just USB1.1. Maybe I should invest in some commas!

I suffer the same problem with my Quicksilver Pro tower. The light is much brighter when pulsing than when constant! I have to cover my machine with a jacket so i can sleep! ...
