Quicktime

ok, my hardware is as stated in my sig. software is all uptodate. the problem happens in both itunes and quicktime player, and with video i download from itms, rip with handbrake (using the ipod preset), or converted from elgato's eyetv2 (using the export to ipod video recommended setting). the problem is thus. i start to play the video, and at some random point, it starts...

Safari caches in ~/Library/Caches/Safari, but QuickTime (whether loaded in Safari or as a standalone app) caches in ~/Library/Caches/QuickTime/downloads. You should find your 27 MB file as a single cache file (.qtch) in a subdirectory. Something like this should give you a full listing: % find ~/Library/Caches/QuickTime/downloads/ -name "*.qtch" -exec ls -l {} \;

SoundStudio is great, although a tad pricey. Quicktime Pro could be used as well, but that also costs. ...

On Flash pages I get the Quicktime symbol and a question mark. Any ideas why? ...

I am not sure but a great Quicktime codec that will play many video types (that is free) is Perian.
