I have a hd-dvd movie FOLDER on my hard drive. How can I play it? What app? I know PowerDVD can play hd-dvd but I would have to bootcamp and copy the > 20GB movie on my small WinXP partition. And quicktime can only play hd-dvd you create on your mac. Any help would be appreciated, THANKS!

I use quicktime Pro - its the best for recording video in my mind since you can fine-tune all the codecs etc. EDIT: A solution that can record stills is iStopMotion as well - I love that prog

have you tried iMovie? Quicktime Pro can record from any quicktime-compatible camera which the iSight is.

Especially with the QuickTime vuln, Apple claimed to be able to patch QuickTime much faster because it has fewer dependencies and is less complicated than OS X, for example. ...

All I know is with HD movies (legal Quicktime downloads) on my Mac took a lot of processor power (about 135% power on a Dual G5). I then bought a new 23 HD display and those same HD files only took up 35% processor power. The moral of this story is if you need HD video on your Mac, get a HD display. Your Mac's processor will be thankful if you get a HD display.

One thing you DO NOT WANT TO USE is Windows Media Player. It doesn't do much on a Mac, and MicroSoft stopped development on it a long time ago, pointing Mac folk to Flip4Mac. Or iTunes for that matter. iTunes doesn't really do WMVs. Do the splat-I (get info) on a wmv and choose QuickTime. That's where your Flip4Mac went if properly installed. If that works for you...

No. Quicktime is free, but you have to upgrade to Quicktime Pro which is about $35. Pretty cheap, yes?
