I have tried Remote Desktop Connection but can't get it to work. I thought maybe I could turn my mac into a server that only my PC laptop can see but no such luck. ...

I am running on static IP's with my tibook and G4 iMac. I just find it easier, I am not running a printer just yet but I am using remote desktop, (to control my stereo) and it is very helpful

As a fan of WinXP (but a bigger fan of OS X), I have to correct this: This is just false - Windows XP Home is $99 and you can get it for even cheaper in some places. XP Professional (only adds minor features like Remote Desktop which Apple sells as a separate $300 product) is $199. Overall, I still think OS 10.2 is a better deal. But let's compare apples to apples...
