Unfortunately, no. In retrospect, I should have bought the care package. I'll know better next time. Thanks for all the help, folks. I've tried draining it a couple of times and charging it, plus resetting the PMU, and it's still dieing early. But it's good to know that there are cheaper prices on ebay! I'm looking into them. I did have a couple more questions, though. ...

I have had a very similar problem but not with retrospect. Basically when I copy a file to a disk or when I run a utility that checks the disk, it would only reach a certain point (129 MB in my case) before freezing entirely. The problem was narrowed down to a bad HD. After replacing the drive everything was fine. Have you or can you try to restore to a different drive? If...

I've got a little iMac acting as a file server in a small office. For some reason, Retrospect is not fully cooperating with its twice-a-day backups, though a reboot fixes it. Dear PowermacG4_450, I have looked at your website and it seems that the navigation panel at the top, the part of the website that you refer to, consists of images within a table. I can't understand why you can't edit this in GoLive! unless the contents of the table is locked? Have you tried editing the page in Macromedia DreamweaverMX? This is the web editor that I...

You are correct. A Mac virus is rare, but in any case you should have Norton Anti Virus installed (There is an OS X version) And set it to scan your internet download folder. You should also have your email attachment folder in the Internet Download folder. Then all your downloads - software and attachments will be scanned for viruses. Doing a back up is easy. It just...

Hi, backed up all my files from a OS9 machine onto a windows file server and backup tape(retrospect) then I installed fresh copy of OSX jaguar. Now, OSX cannot recongize any files unless they have an extension. Also when I try to open some of them manually, it cannot open the files. Even the restored files from tape have this problem. Is there a way to have OSX...
