Well true, but you cant just pick any chip and put it in a PDA :-) --- some chips are designed for a PDA just like chips are optimized for laptops. The ARM architecture is a nice and powerful architecture (and not as power consuming) for a PDA (the newton ran on it :D ) , in retrospect you cant really put a pentium, SPARC or PowerPC chip in a PDA by today's standards...

How are your boot times? Anybody know any tricks on making startup faster? You can't disable more extensions like you could in 9 :) My boot time seems to get LONGER as I install more updates and install things like BroadbandOptimizer and Retrospect :( My friends XP machine kicks the crap out of X's boot time. :(

On my G3 I had 2 drives. One was OS X + Classic (A "clean" OS 9), and the other was my OS 9. On this new g4 I have 2 60GB drives with OS X + Classic on one. The other is basically for backups. for now I am doing this manually, but I am anxiously awaiting something automated and foolproof like Retrospect... At that point both drives will esentially be mirrors of each...
