Why does Sherlock have to index every damn time i run it? ...

ems to be a strange problem with sherlock. I open it from the dock and it loads, and usually works, but sometimes it gets into this error message telling me that sherlock has an error and that i should quit and open it again. Now this doesnt work, unless i let it alone for a while. Anyone experience this problem? ...

I would like to be able to access and search for files using the finder and sherlock in directories like /etc/httpd /usr/local/apache etc.... is it possible to do this??

Every time I open Sherlock I get an "unexpected error" which prevents me from searching. The error message tells me to restart if I keep encountering errors. ...

Just recently the Preview Application disappeared from my mac mini running 10.4.11. I tried searching with Spotlight and Sherlock with no results. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get it back or reinstalling it? ...

Just to clarify, spotlight isnt working, I said sherlock before. ...

@Giaguara Thanks for your suggestions. I tried them all (but a new install) to no avail. So I searched in the system and perhaps the BSD.pkg is some files missing (it will never ever find a server and some proggies are shuting down immediately after start up). Eg. Firefox 1.0 starts up (with no connection of course) but Firefox 2.0, Safari. Sherlock, etc shut down...

Using Sherlock 2, running under Classic, I was able to find this file, but the only thing I could do with it in Sherlock 2 was move it to the Trash. So now, it's sitting in the Trash of the Classic environment, but OSX doesn't see it, the Trash in OSX is empty. ...

only it doesn't work. It only opens the Sherlock box but no text is pasted in. ...
