The Symbol font (with Greek characters) has been around since at least System 7, if not earlier. But if you can find a real Greek font (which shouldn't be too hard -- try Sherlock), then OS X should have good support for using it with the standard Greek keyboard layout.

Guess I need to use sherlock more often ;) Never mind... I simply re-draged the .dock(s) from the Dock Extras folder and the seem to work fine... still wonder why they didn't load right after installing 10.0.2 though.....

The reason I think Apple would be willing to actually perform such a project is the same as the reason they created Sherlock and iTunes. Those tools give users an edge for the tasks they perform all the time, which should be quick and painless. ...

A few things I will note: I never liked the Apple menu post-System 6. Now Menus always trumped Apple Menu Options feature for feature. Most notably the ability to change any menu item hotkey. UFS is really slow in my experience: sherlock: 24 bounces in dock (UFS) sherlock: 17 bounces in dock (HFS+) I know this isn't scientific or anything, but UFS was a lot slower. It was easy to tell.

Actually I just noticed that Carbon apps can use sheets. Sherlock uses a sheet for errors, the Finder uses a sheet for the goto field. If I find anymore examples of this I'll post them. ...
